This month we’re focussing on some fun new treats for all you lovely folks. Our new website launches today [hold for round of applause].
And we have two special announcements, including the forthcoming Comms Hub which we’re running in collaboration with the By2020 coalition.
There’s also some news from friends and allies, as well as some juicy new content. Get stuck in!
Introducing the Grassroots Content Hub?! Are you a social media whizz for your grassroots group? Do you want to join forces with other groups to create even more exciting new content? Then read on… Working alongside the By2020 coalition to spot opportunities for creative content, the Hub will aim to provide financial support and organise the distribution of pan-European content, with the goal of engaging larger audiences, mobilising support, and amplifying the impact of actions across our network. If this sounds like your kind of thing, sign up for our first meeting on the 6th of October via the link below.
After months of media speculation and clandestine meetings, we’re finally ready to reveal to you the all-new European Changemakers website! We want this to be a place to amplify your stories, help you find resources for your campaign, join in our trainings and skillshares, and establish a network for activists interested in climate justice. You can explore the site and find out more by clicking the button below.
The #ClimateCareUprising has begun! For the next three weeks climate justice groups across Europe and beyond will be taking direct action to block politics and companies of mass destruction, and create a new dialogue around climate justice. Want to help spread the word? Watch our video below, and click the link below to find hashtags, content, and more to get involved.
To introduce you to our new ‘activist diary’ series, here’s a fantastic story from our allies at Limity Jsme My. This summer the group organised a cycle-tour through the Northern Bohemia region of the Czech Republic to highlight how coal expansion is threatening local communities and putting the country’s climate future at risk. Click the link to read their amazing story and check out some of the pics.
If you’ve got a story of ordinary people doing extraordinary things that you want us to amplify and show solidarity with, don’t hesitate to get in touch with us by replying to us directly at [email protected].
Our allies at Climáximo have announced that after years of mass protests, local campaigns, and climate strikes across the country, last week Australia Oil and Gas was forced to give up the final contract for fossil fuel extraction in Portugal! ?
Our friends at Ende Gelände are back! As part of the Climate Care Uprising (see above) the anti-coal civil disobedience group will meet this week to once-more paralyse coal and gas infrastructure across Germany, and take climate justice into their own hands.
Go check out their page and get to know their fantastic work through the link below!
European Changemakers, we’ve been wondering how our broad network could further use its collective knowledge, links, and expertise to help each other out — so we’ve launched the EC Campaign Surgery.
If you’re stuck on an issue while planning a campaign or anything of the sort, use the form below to let us know. We’ll periodically bring together experienced people in the field to draw on their wealth of knowledge and help answer any burning questions you might have.
That is it for this month’s Bulletin.
Until next month,
Karl and the rest of the European Changemakers team
The best way to be notified about events coming up, new tools and tricks of the activist trade is to subscribe to our monthly bulletin here.
